Welcome to Rototaha Lodge

peaceful lakeside accommodation

Hugh and Mandy Collins purchased Rototaha in 1997 as a bare block of land.
In the first 2-3 years, 30,000 trees were planted so developing the first stages of our arboretum. Redwoods, Douglas firs, and nz natives, decidious trees rhododendrons, magnolias wetland areas were developed and now there’s an abundance of bird life to watch and beautiful walks through the property.

 

Planting is still ongoing.

Rototaha Lodge is a great place to relax in a peaceful environment surrounded by nature and the beauty of the different seasons.

 

Take a kayak on the lake or a spot of fishing off the jetty

The orchards are now established with cherries, apricots, peaches, raspberries, apples and pears for sampling when in season and maybe before leaving you too, could plant a tree?

Mandy makes cheese and will give a lesson if you choose with sampling at the main house.
